10 Food Allergy Myths Exposed
Allergy is one of the most frequently diagnosed medical conditions. It is also one of the most unpredictable and underestimated. I was in contact with the allergen, maybe nothing would happen.
Many studies, as well as recommendations of the World Health Organization, clearly indicate that under no circumstances you must be exposed to the allergen. Most of the time, the allergy is developed on the inside, with no outer signs.
Myth No. 2
I have passed all tests and they do not show any food allergies. Blood tests and skin allergy tests would have determined it if I had any.
As a matter of fact, the blood and skin tests and screenings can only be an early indication of the allergy. Having received that indication, you must take further steps to diagnose the condition you have.

I have diagnosed my/my child’s allergy by myself, excluding the food product from daily ratio.

Myth No. 7
“May contain” on the product description is merely the indication for the food control agency. It does not mean that the food is contained in the product.
Frequently, “may contain” label is mentioned about peanuts. Studies have proved severe reactions to such foods among the people with allergies to them.
Myth No. 8
Food ratio at schools and public institutions ensure the safety of people taking their meals there.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that allergy phenomenon is widespread, food allergies are different and it is solely up to you to keep an eye on the food you take. There are no common cooking practices, which would ensure full safety of allergic individuals.
Myth No. 9
Airborne exposure to the smell of the food you are allergic to can cause anaphylaxis.
This statement has never been proved in either of the allergy studies. Moreover, the studies conducted in the US prove the opposite.
Myth No. 10
People with allergies cannot have a flu shot.
Of course, the statement is wrong. Unless you have any allergy to the components of the anti-flu injection, you are completely safe to take both period and regular flu shots.
Frequently, people believe that these myths are the truth. It is not right. If you are allergic to any food product, be aware of the widespread pseudo-science and keep those in mind.
