This year is promising to be even more vibrant in terms of food trends, as the seeds sown in 2016 should inevitably shoot in 2017. Here are some ideas, which will help you keep your health in check and energy on the rise!

Reduce your intake of carbohydrates and get more vitamins by adding cauliflower to your menu. To make it even more digestible, chop it into tiny rice-like particles. You can either eat it as is or as part of a main course.

There is a great way to reduce excess calories: replace flour with protein powder. You can use it to cook pancakes and other baked items, which are as delicious as their much calorie-richer flour-based counterparts.

Veggie chips are increasingly trendy, as they retain fiber and come with but a small number of natural ingredients like salt and oil. There are tons of healthy recipes, which use vitamin-rich ingredients like beets, potatoes, kale, salads, Brussels sprout, etc.

Bone broth seems to be casting off the shell of mystery, as its benefits are increasingly evident. It is known for its beneficial influence on the digestive and immune systems, and is likely to claim a place in the list of top healthy ingredients in 2017.

Vegetarian food gets another share of recognition every year, and 2017 is no exception. There is pretty much evidence that vegans have a stronger body, more resistant to diseases, and a longer life span. The awareness of it continues to grow, as does the popularity of vegetarian diets.

Grains have been on the trend until now, and they won’t go away in 2017 either. Grain bowls include different types of grains and are served with a variety of spices and sauces. There are countless grain bowl types, which satisfy the needs of people from all walks of life, both healthy and those dealing with chronic illnesses like diabetes.

Blue-green algae (spirulina), as well as other types of seaweed, are gaining worldwide market because it is extremely rich in proteins and calories. These products increasingly available, and goes well with a wide range of meals.

Needless to say, fermented foods (tempeh, sauerkraut, miso, kefir, etc.) are very good for digestion, so there are no reasons for them to lose popularity in 2017. Most likely, more of these will appear in groceries and restaurant menus this year.

Coconut and avocado can be part of a sweet dessert, as they provide a decent replacement of sugar and are rich in proteins and healthy fats. This does not cut them short of their sweet taste in any way.

Tumeric is a common ingredient in Indian meals. It contains curcumin – a compound, which has proved to be instrumental in protecting your body against cancer, arthritie, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and many other illnesses. Some believe that it is more relevant to extract curcumin from tumeric and use it as a food supplement rather than consuming turmeric itself, because it is poorly absorbed by the body.

As follows from the above and given the growing public interest in and striving to healthy life, there is no reason to expect products, which were fairly trendy last year, to discontinue their pace this year.
