Acai Berry Combats Cancer Cells

Everybody knows that eating fresh vegetables and fruits is very good for our health. Do you know that these products have been proven to reduce the risk factors of getting chronic disorders like cancer and different heart diseases? Such fruits as mangoes and grapes containing antioxidants were scientifically tested to destroy cancer cells. One of fruits of this kind is commonly found in the areas of the river Amazon in Brazil. Acai berry grows on a palm tree named the Euterpe Oleracea. The berry is around the size of blueberries. Acai berry is with a large seed and a dark, thick, purple skin. But all these claims were not based on some scientific evidence. That’s why in 2005, the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences in Florida made a control testing of the wonderful powers of acai berry. The tests completed, they published the discoveries they made in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry edition in January 2006. And the thing is that the results showed that dependant on the contraction and the sample of the extracts, acai berry was indeed capable to trigger about 35 – 86% of cancerous leukaemia cells to their self destruct.
