Tip #1. Vacuum more often

Yes, that’s right, it’s not a tip for keeping your house clean, although it definitely comes as a bonus. Using a vacuum cleaner makes your abs work, and vacuuming for 30 minutes can burn up to a hundred calories depending on intensity and what vacuum cleaner you have.

Tip #2. Eat foods rich in fiber

To get rid of at least some belly fat, switch to foods that contain a lot of fiber. Every 10 g of fiber a day can reduce belly fat by around 4%. Broccoli, artichokes, apples, and other veggies and fruits can help you get the minimal amount of fiber without making you eat power bars or whatever else you might have seen in ads – natural food is best.

Tip #3. Don’t skip workouts

Who said workouts should be long, boring and expensive? Instead of spending a fortune on gym membership, opt for calisthenics or a 10-minute flat belly workout, which does not take much time and is more interesting than regular squats and push-ups.

Salt causes your body to retain water, which means you will weigh more, and your belly will be round despite having little fat. Actually, reducing the amount of salt consumed is part of any healthy diet, so it’s a measure advised by many a fitness guide.

When you are reading a book, watching TV or washing the dishes, suck in your abs mimicking an attempt to button pants, and hold it for three counts. You can enhance common exercises with such a trick or do it whenever you want – it’s a nice activity to do if you spend hours with no other equipment for a workout other than your desk.

The good old plank is an extremely effective exercise, which can be beneficial for health in a number of ways. It is praised by yoga proponents, and side plank can even help treat scoliosis. Performing it is a good way to flatten your belly, and increasing the time you can hold it is a challenge by itself: mastering it day by day and watching your abs progress can be an interesting experience.

Swapping your common chair for a Swiss ball can help you keep your body fit even if you do not have time to exercise during the mid-day break. Don’t worry if it looks weird – your colleagues are likely to buy one too as soon as they see yours! Using a fitness ball as a chair can help you keep your abs working while you are typing or surfing the Internet. Actually, a Swiss ball is such a versatile piece of sports equipment that it can be fun to exercise using it.

Tip #9. Try yoga exercises

Chakras aside, yoga can be a nice addition to your workout routine. It promotes flexibility and strength, improves your core and other muscles, and can even help you relax. Yoga exercises can be recommended to anyone, as beginner poses do not require any preparation or training and can help alleviate pain in shoulders, lower back, etc.
