Nowadays there are a lot of different diets in our world: low-calorie diets, limiting diets, balanced and unbalanced, low-fat and high-fat diets, low-carb or high-carb etc. And when we want to stick to a diet, we are ambivalent about what method to choose. So, what do we have to know when choosing a diet?Nowadays there are a lot of different diets in our world: low-calorie diets, limiting diets, balanced and unbalanced, low-fat and high-fat diets, low-carb or high-carb etc. And when we want to stick to a diet, we are ambivalent about what method to choose. So, what do we have to know when choosing a diet? Sometimes we cannot resist letting ourselves eat something unhealthy, something fat. But such food immediately affects our body, and in some days we might notice that our stomach is not as flat as it has recently been. Seeing it, we decide that it is high time to start dieting! The only thing we have to do is to decide which diet to chose. According to the guidance on obesity, published in 2013 by the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology and the Obesity Society, no diet has advantages in respect to the dynamics of weight loss if compared with the other diets. And the choice of a diet should be carried out in accordance with the individual preferences of a patient and the state of their health. Researchers from the University of Stanford made the same conclusion. They compared two diets (low-fat diet and low-carb diet) and traced the effectiveness of these diets in terms of weight loss. In the research, more than 600 volunteers took part; their age was from eighteen to fifty. They had to keep to one particular diet for a year. The results showed that people from both the groups lost on average thirteen pounds during this year. The results proved the equal effectiveness of these diets. These findings are very important for us, because it means that we can choose every diet we want without excluding some favorite food from our ration.
What do we have to know about diets?
Your diet should be diverse.Diet for weight loss should be healthy. It means that the body has to receive all the necessary elements in right proportions. You should remember that a truly effective diet cannot be restricted by consumption of only one product. Consumption of one type of product in the absence of motor activity leads to weight loss, but our body reduces not fat, but the muscles we have, especially if the diet is low-protein. The decrease in the percentage of muscle tissue in the body leads to the problems with metabolism. Our body consumes our muscle tissues to maintain the metabolic processes. Therefore, at the end of a mono-diet the person will be in a worse situation than at the beginning. With an excessive amount of fat and reduced amount of muscles, the ability to burn calories may decrease significantly.
Do not forget about protein!Protein is an important component of any diet, because it contributes to the formation of muscles. If the body does not get enough protein, it will take it from your skin and hair, which can significantly worsen their condition. A good source of protein is fish and seafood that is also rich in useful polyunsaturated fatty acids such as Omega-3, for example. As for meat, diet can include easily digestible, lean meat: veal, beef, poultry, and rabbit meat. In addition, chicken meat contains a lot of protein, and is digested more quickly.
Do sports. As it has already been stated, no diet will work for one day, but sports may boost the process of weight loosing. Sport influences metabolism. Metabolism of many people is slowed, and because of that they gain extra pounds. Physical exercises can make it work faster, and as a result your body will be able to spend calories more quickly. Moreover, doing sports, your body produces more endorphin that is a hormone of happiness. So, if you visit a gym while dieting, your diet will not bring you a lot of discomfort, but on the contrary will make you feel better.
It is proved that every diet has almost equal effect on our weight loss, but still every diet influences our body in different ways. And to escape some unpleasant consequences of dieting, it is very important to choose a diet that will be good for your body and for your health!
