It is a well-known fact that consumption of different oils influences our body in different ways. From the very childhood we are taught that fish oil is a perfect means that is able to heal every disease and prevent our body from getting old. But is it really so?

We know a lot of facts about consumption of different oils, for example we are used to the idea that the use of palm oil leads to accumulation of cholesterol in vessels, or that cod-liver oil helps our body to maintain proper work of our immune system. Sometimes these facts can be challenged. And exactly because of that we should find out real effects of different oils.
Fish oil is not a panacea
Fish oil is a thick mass with a characteristic odor, similar to vegetable oil. It is synthesized from fish liver and muscle tissue. The composition contains a rich set of minerals and trace elements that includes oleic acid, polyunsaturated Omega-3acids, Omega-6 acids, various vitamins and others.
Looking at this composition of oil you may think that it can help in healing a great number of diseases. But, in fact scientists from Spain found out that sometimes fish oil can cause more harm rather than good.
The scientists studied rats that were fed with fish oil. They found out that fish oil can damage liver in the same way as alcohol does, and, thus, can lead to liver cirrhosis or even cancer. In addition, the scientists reported that fish oil increases oxidation of the body and liver in particular that leads to its aging.
They also stated that the ability of our liver to accumulate fat increases with age, and this ability directly depends on the kind of oil we use. So, how do different oils influence our body?
During the research the scientists stated that olive oil is the best for our health. Acids of olive oil prevent the formation of cholesterol plaques that influence the emergence of clogged blood vessels and that contribute to the formation of clots on their walls. It is recommended that olive oil is consumed regularly for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and atherosclerosis. In addition, olive oil affects the central nervous system. Linoleic acid that is part of the composition improves blood circulation in the brain and the communication of nerve cells. Due to the properties of linoleic acid, olive oil improves coordination of movements, memory and reaction speed.
Walnut oil strengthens immune system, calms down the nervous system, relieves fatigue and stress, increases the vitality of the body and the body’s resistance to catarrh diseases. The best season to take walnut oil is winter, because at this time it can serve as an assistant in prevention of cold and flu. It is used in the treatment of lung diseases, in particular, tuberculosis. This oil significantly improves metabolic processes in the body. It is recommended during reconvalescence after undergone diseases and surgery.
Flaxseed oil is considered to be very useful for people with atherosclerosis, because regular consumption of the oil lowers the level of cholesterol due to a decrease in the level of triglycerides and low-density lipoproteins that are involved in the formation of cholesterol plaques. On the other hand, the level of high-density lipoproteins, so-called good cholesterol, increases. Flaxseed oil also helps to protect the nerve cells and improve the communication between them.
No doubt, the oils we consume influence our body a lot. Some of them can cause good results and some of them can have a negative effect on our body. Anyway, it is better to consult your doctor before taking any oil on a daily basis.
