Experts say that every room has to be ventilated twice a day, and every session has to be not less than thirty minutes regardless of the weather outside. And even if you have a charming view of a motorway from the window, you should not lock up the windows tightly. Try to ventilate the room early in the morning and late at night, when the traffic is minimal.

People, who have air conditioning or climate systems, should remember to change special filters when it is necessary, because only in this case the air in your room will be clean enough.

Clean the floor

Also, the air in your room contains dust. It penetrates your lungs causing them a lot of harm.  Dust is accumulated on carpets, curtains and furniture. It can cause allergic reactions depending on the composition of the particles that form it. You can use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of dust in your house, but also you should not forget about wet cleaning. A vacuum cleaner is an excellent invention of mankind, but anyway it does not eliminate the importance of wet cleaning. Dust, settled on the surfaces of the floor does not just look ugly, but is harmful as well.

Dust can also contain some special mites called dust mites. They live in mattresses and carpets and feed on our dead skin particles. They leave feces containing digestive enzymes that can cause strong allergic reactions in humans.

The specialists recommend using special covers for mattress and pillowcases that can protect them from mites.

Put plants in your room

It has long been known that many indoor plants purify the air of harmful microorganisms; they have a curative effect, as well as a beneficial effect on our psyche.

Many indoor plants have the ability to produce phytoncides in the same way as trees and shrubs. In addition, they increase the humidity in a room; they clean it of toxic substances that plastic items and household chemical connectors (varnishes, glues, detergents) emit. This ability of plants to clean the air is especially important in poorly ventilated areas, such as rooms with plastic windows, for example.
